You can either choose an extensive course which meets once or twice a week or - for faster progress - you can do a 4-week semi-intensive course with 2.5 hours of tuition per day, 3 days a week. Duration per level: 90 - 120 hours

Standard Courses
You can do these courses once or twice a week or for faster progress we offer a semi-intensive class (3 x 2.5 hr/ wk) in the late afternooon or turbo classes (2 x 2.5 hr/ wk) in the morning. From the first day on these courses are practical, with real-life applications to either max. 6 or 8 participants, you have lots of opportunity for active participation and speaking practice. This way you start speaking almost immediately.

At the A1 / A2 levels you quickly become familiar with the basics of German. The main goal is getting you to communicate successfully in everyday situations as soon as possible. You work actively, step-by-step on the most important elements of communication and basic grammar. Information about living in Switzerland is an integral part of the Elementary course. Both A1 and A2 end with the Goethe Start A1 or A2 exam - done internally as an end of level test.
The courses at level B1 bring you up to a good level of communication in a wide range of situations.
Certificate option: Perhaps you would like to document the language competence you have achieved so far? Towards the end of B1, B2 or C1 you can do a short Examination Training and enrol for an internationally recognised Goethe certificate: ZERTIFIKAT DEUTSCH B1 oder Goethe Zertifikat B2 or C1. Having a Goethe Certificate improves your chances in the local job market, while the C2-level diplomas make it possible to attend a German-speaking university without further language certification. Primarily though, these examination preparation courses motivate you to be more disciplined and towork hard on improving your German. This means you make more progress faster.

Maintain or polish up your foreign language skills in a refreshing new way. We know that progress can also be made outside the classroom, and once people reach a certain level of language knowledge, they often want something extra to motivate them to keep going. This new range allows for some multi-tasking, so while practising speaking German, you learn about culture and - last but not least - you meet and enjoy yourself with people with whom you have something in common.

You love reading books in your mother-tongue and know that if you were disciplined about reading in German you would make good progress with your comprehension and vocabulary. We help you in this process. In this Krimi-Lesegruppe, you extend your knowledge of Swiss, German and Austrian culture and way of life through reading crime novels between lessons and discussion them in the group. Coffee and cake is of course included. So are writing tasks if wished.

Practise and extend your foreign language knowledge through visits to museums in small groups of maximum 6 people. Prepare for the visit by reading information sent beforehand, complete tasks while you are guided around the museum and end up in a congenial café talking checking the tasks and chatting informally about the experience before heading off home.

This two-day workshop-style seminar is ideal for you if you need to give presentations in German. You will be guided through the process of
planning and organizing a presentation of your choice and will then get the opportunity to present this and apply the new techniques and language. Trainer and participants all take a constructive role in suggesting changes or improvements to your performance.

Negotiating in German B2-C1
Negotiating in German
This practical two-day seminar is ideal if you work in Sales or Purchasing or in areas where you need to negotiate in German. You decide what contributes to a good negotiation and learn how to deal with potential difficulties. Simulations of meeting room situations with group and trainer feedback help you develop the skills you require to successfully manage a negotiation, breaking the process down into its various stages and equipping you with the language appropriate for each. You will learn how to negotiate more effectively, feel more confident about the strategies and language you use and be able to compare techniques for achieving positive outcomes.

BULATS: Die Bestätigung Ihrer Deutschkenntnisse A1-B2
BULATS (Business Language Testing Service)
This computer test produces accurate profiles of language abilites in English, German, French and Spanish. It adapts itself to the accuracy of the candidates answers, in other words, the better your answers, the harder the test gets.
BULATS was developed by renowned international language assessment agencies including the University of Cambrige and Goethe Institute. The results are printed out according to the ALTE and Common European Framework of Levels.
These tests are used by the following:
- Immigration authorities incresingly require proof of current German knowledge before extending residence permits. BULATS is a popular choice.
- Companies and organizations. Human Resource departments use these computer tests to verifiy the language skills of job applicants and existing staff. BULTATS are increasingly being used to measure progress of corporate language training. For example as a before and after check to track language improvement over an extended training period. They can also be used for benchmarking purposes.
- Individuals can use BULATS as an indicator of language ability on a CV, if for example, they have no other certificate. Should the certificates be old, the BULATS test provides an updated report of your current abilities.
BULATS tests take about 1.25 hours to do. The price is CHF 90.- per test.
Just call and make an appointment at TLC in Baden, so we can set up the test in a quiet room for you. For mass testing in companies, we arrange to set this up in your premises.

One-to-one training is the ideal form of language tuition if you have very specific needs, very limited time or you require flexibility. With one-to-one training, you get maximum flexibility. You can meet 1 to 6 times a week, in your office, at home or at TLC. Content and tuition are customized to suit your needs so you really do make faster progress.
Two-to-one training is a more economical option and is also efficient if you both have similar goals and level.

Editing / Coaching
This is the ideal training if you need to write a lot for work. You can send your text to be corrected by your trainer within the time you agree, eg. 24 hours. So that you really learn to write better, we follow up with coaching either personally or e-mail or Skype.
