Standard Courses
You can either do a course once or twice a week or - for faster progress - you can choose one of our monthly intensive French courses with 3 hours of tuition per day.

At the A1 / A2 levels you quickly become familiar with the basics of French. The main goal is getting you to communicate successfully in everyday situations as soon as possible. The courses at levels B1/ B2 bring you up to a good level of communication.

In a small group of max. 8 participants, you have lots of opportunity for active participation and speaking practice. This way you gain confidence and get speaking sooner.
At the A2 levels you become familiar with the basics of French. The main goal is getting you to communicate successfully in everyday working situations as soon as possible. You work actively, step-by-step on the most important elements of communication and basic grammar. The courses at levels B1/ B2 bring you up to a good level of communication in work-related situations. You can use important structures and have a vocabulary which allows you to communicate in a wide range of situations.

TLC offers a variety of focus courses, both for general and business French. These language courses concentrate specifically on you needs, giving you optimal learning in a short time.

Is your French a bit rusty? Do you want to brush up your grammar and vocabulary? Then this course will help you revise everything in a structured and varied way. Revision of the rules and individualized input will soon make you feel more secure when communicating in French.

Maintain or polish up your foreign language skills in a refreshing new way. Whether through dance, Nordic walking or book clubs, The Language Company's new club events and courses offer an exciting alternative to classroom language learning. We know that progress can also be made outside the classroom, and once people reach a certain level of language knowledge, they often want something extra to motivate them to keep going. This new range allows for some multi-tasking, so while practising speaking French, you work on your fitness, and - last but not least - you meet and enjoy yourself with people with whom you have something in common.
All these TLC Language and Culture Club activities are run by our well-qualified and highly experienced teachers, teaching their mother-tongue. How much formalized language learning is included depends on the activity and your wishes regarding homework.
French and Nordic walking from B1
French and Nordic walking from B1
You can do this course in groups of maximal 6 people. The group meets at Baldegg or in Nussbaumen and each session ends with a refreshing drink in a local restaurant. As you walk through the pleasant surroundings, you talk in pairs or small groups, chatting sometimes about prepared topics but mostly about what comes up. Language help and correction is given as needed by the teacher.

DFP Affaires A2 - C1
Diplôme de Français Professionnel des Affaires
The Chamber of Commerce diploma in professional French is for candidates whose mother tongue is not French. The diploma is a practical examination that assesses the oral and written communication skills in the main professional situations at various levels. There are no prerequisite diplomas to take the first level of the DEF.
This diploma is a major advantage for those who use French in a professional context, in France or abroad. It is a popular goal for TLC corporate clients and so far TLC students have had a 100% pass rate.

BULATS A1 - B2
BULATS (Computer-based test in TLC used as proof of present level of language skill)
One-to-one and two-to one training is the ideal form of language tuition if you have very specific needs, very limited time or you require flexibility either because you are so busy or away a lot and so cannot regularly attend a group course. Content and tuition are customized to suit your needs so you really do make faster progress. Naturally this requires effort on your part and most importantly, frequent lessions. If you are are travelling, we recommend e-mail, Skype- or e-learning lessons.
Editing / Coaching
This is the ideal training if you need to write a lot for work. You can send your text to be corrected by your trainer within the time you agree, eg. 24 hours. So that you really learn to write better, we follow up with coaching either personally or e-mail or Skype. Here we explain the problems, give you remedial help and then train you step by step to avoid your typical mistakes and self-correct.
Presentation or Interview Practice
Do you have an important presentation coming up and you would like to rehearse it with a trainer, make sure all your slides are correct and to practice answering questions from the audience? One of our business trainers would be happy to help you.
We do the same as pre-interview practice sessions - face to face or on Skype.
Placement Test
To ensure that you join the course that best suits your present level, a careful evaluation of your language skills is essential. This you can do conveniently on-line by choosing the test level which matches your knowledge. The test takes about 35 minutes. To get a more exact result, do not guess answers. If you don’t know an answer, leave it empty. We will contact you on receiving your test to discuss your options and the next steps.
If you are a beginner, you do not need to do a placement test.
Please note, you will not see the test results.
