IBET). The pre-CELTA Grammar Course and some Post-Celta options complete the range. The Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT) and Bridge to SBEV1 will be on offer from 2011.

Getting Grammar across: Grammar for Language Teachers

John Potts' popular grammar course for language trainers is an excellent course for pre-CELTA trainers and the ideal way to boost your confidence in the classroom generally. All CELTA trainees are advised to do this course.

This very practical course establishes comprehensive techniques for researching and analysing grammar points, and develops a wide repertoire of interactive techniques and approaches for use when introducing and practising the new grammar in the classroom. We'll focus on concept, function and use, as well as on form and pronunciation. Teachers of languages other than English are very welcome - please note that the working language will be English.

Time: Tuesdays, 9.00 - 12.15
Price: CHF 720.00 including all course materials

CELTA (Cert. in Teaching English to Adults)

TLC - The Language Company, Baden runs two part-time 12-week CELTA courses every year from January to April and from September to December - the only part-time CELTA on offer in Switzerland. These courses are run by the some of the most experienced and popular local EFL trainers, with John Potts as the director.  The TLC CELTA takes place in a real school environment over some 144 contact hours (more than the minimum required by Cambridge ESOL) and the part-time format makes for optimal learning. As a result the course is very popular and interested teachers need to apply well in advance.

From 2011, you can do a 5-week intensive in May - June. The extra week makes this a less hectic option than the usual month-long course.

The CELTA  is by far the most widely recognized introductory teaching qualification for candidates who have little or no previous English language teaching experience. It may also be suitable for candidates with some experience but little previous training.

Course dates:  27 Aug - 3 Dec 2010 > Course full / 6 Jan - 1 April 2011. (Registration deadline 30 Sept.) / 9 May - 10 June 2011 /  26 Aug - 25 Nov 2011.
